Fiscal Sponsor: Community Works West

Community Works (CW) is The Paragate Project's 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor and close collaborator in much of Sujatha's restorative justice and forgiveness work.  CW is committed to restorative justice practices with youth affected by familial incarceration and for incarcerated adults. Many of Community Works’ arts and education programs are based on the principles of restorative justice including the award winning Resolve to Stop the Violence Project (RSVP), a program CW manages in collaboration with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department. CW leads Family Transition Circles (FTC) for parents in custody (and upon release) with their children and their childrens’ caregiver.  CW is home to Sujatha's restorative justice diversion pilot, the Family Group Conferencing Project.  Sujatha Baliga serves as Director of Community Works’ newest initiative, Community Justice Works.  CW staff Jerry Scoggins and artist facilitator Dee Morizono-Myers often co-facilitate The Paragate Project’s forgiveness circles, and CW's Jenna Preheim facilitates Community Justice Works’ family group conferences.
